Sewing Seeds
Sewing Seeds is a biodegradable textile that brings craft and cultvation togetther as a living archive. It holds regional seeds, including sesame, nigella, mustard, fava bean and chickpea, each housed in small hand-formed vessels of terracotta, papier-mache, and natural cotton, stitched onto a jute base to form a carpet. The work reimagines the seed bank as a domestic, living system, where the carpet gradually shifts from a site of storage to one of ecological regeneration.
